11 Weeks

11 Weeks Old
...and we had a busy last week! It was Mom's last week before heading back to work full-time so we decided to make the most of it. By the end of the weekend we were all tuckered out. :)

Milestones
Cannon will copy mom and stick his tongue out. It's really funny, but later on  I'll probably regret teaching him that. :)

Cannon has also started noticing his feet. He stares at them while he's kicking them around or wiggling his toes. Anthony and I like to make up funny things for what he might be thinking while he is looking at them (like on te movie Look Who's Talking). We say things for him like...
"What are those funny lookin' blobs down there? I wonder what they taste like."

Thursday
We got a bit touristy since Oma was visiting. On Thursday we went to Yellowstone Bear World. Oma LOVES bears! She was so excited to see the little cubs and she even got to bottle-feed them. It was pretty hot outside so Cannon decided to sleep instead of watch the bears. :)

Friday
On Friday we went to Rexburg Rapids with Macie and Christina and the kiddos. It was Cannon's first time swimming. I bought him these cute swim pants with turtles on them. Anthony thought the hat made him look like Gilligan. :)

Cannon liked the water and the sunshine. He enjoyed kicking and splashing around.

And once again...the warm sunshine put him to sleep.

 Saturday
On Saturday we held our first yard sale. The sale was a success and we made $250 in 4 hours! However, one of the sale items never even made it out to the yard. I was getting ready to put a price tag on this little puppy dog when it caught Cannon's eye. He spent the whole morning talking and smiling at the puppy. They are still best buddies. :)

Monday
Mom went back to work on Monday the 25th. We were so grateful to have Oma here to stay home with Cannon while Dad was at school and Mom was at work. Cannon made Mom a pinky promise that he would be a good boy while we were gone, and Mom promised that she would come back home after work every day and snuggle him.

10 weeks

10 Weeks
This week we got a gift in the mail from Grandma Nancy! Here is Cannon on his beautiful new Superman quilt that Grandma made. As you can see he is quite a fan of it. :)

Our Lil' Cannonball is such a joy to watch! He is pretty good at sucking his fists now and is always moving his hands and wiggling his fingers. He grasps and things and we even got him to hold onto a spoon for a few seconds.
He is also getting really chatty! This boy can talk it up, and always has something to say. The expressions on his face make us think he is really trying to tell us something.

Oma flew to Idaho for Cannon's blessing on the 10th and is staying with us until the end of the month. I'm really happy and grateful she can be here for the first week I go back to work.  It should help make that transition a little more smooth.
Cannon is Oma's first grandson and she is just having a blast with him!

Cannon is a snuggle bug and will let anyone hold him.He likes to be held and bounced when he's ready to go to sleep.

Happy Father's Day
Cannon will snuggle and let people hold him, but he won't usually snuggle on the shoulder of anyone other than Mommy. But on Father's Day weekend Anthony got a snugly gift.

2 months old

2 Months Old
Here's our handsome man at 2 months old!
11.12 lbs (39th percentile)
23.75" long (76th percentile)
15.2" head size (22nd percentile)

Cannon is getting so big, it seems like every day when we look at him he looks a little bit different. He continues to jabber away and still "talks," to us or grunts and squeals rather that crying when he wants something.

He loves to stick out his tongue and blow bubbles with his spit. :) He also loves stripping down to just his diaper and having the freedom of "naked time." And of course, he still LOVES to bounce. We hold him and bounce on the yoga ball to calm him down. Other times he's content to bounce himself by kicking his legs in his bouncer chair.

He is a very active little boy and kicks his legs, swings his arms and wiggles his fingers all the time when he's awake. We think he's going to be quite the little mover once he becomes mobile. His hands and feet still look big, which makes us think he'll be tall. He wiggles his fingers and has been grabbing onto our clothes when we hold him. He's also started noticing his feet when he kicks them around. I'm sure it won't be long before he starts grabbing at them.

Yes sir, that's my baby!
Is it just me, or are there some definite similarities?

Blessing Day

Cannon's Blessing Day

Cannon was blessed on 6/10/11 (one day before he turned 2 mos old). His Great-Gram, Lorraine, made him this darling blessing suit complete with vest and bow-tie. And his Aunt Kelly crocheted him this beautiful white afghan. Cannon looked so handsome.

We were so happy to have so many members of our family travel such long distances to be here for Cannon's blessing. It was really a wonderful, spiritual day. Marc, Andrew, Brian and our Bishop stood in for the blessing. Afterward Anthony spoke in sacrament meeting about the blessing of Fatherhood (since the following week was Father's Day).

Anthony's Family that were able to join us:
Great-Gram: Lorraine
Gram & Pappy: Lisa & Marc
Ashley, Brian & Madison
Andrew & Brittany
Alyssa
Cousins: Tyler, Brandon & Telsie Clements

4 Generations- Lorraine, Lisa, Anthony, Cannon.

Betsy's Family & Friends that were able to join us:
Oma: Leslie
Macie, Dan & Layla Robison

After a yummy lunch it was time to take a snooze. Little Madi was so cute trying to get comfortable in Cannon's bouncer seat.

Cannon enjoyed being passed around and held by all his family and friends. Here he is with cousin Madi and then getting ready for bed, all snugly in his jammies and chewing on Gram's thumb. :)
Madison wanted to hold the baby and kept asking to put "it" in the swing.
